The seventh edition of artOmat, the fair of unconventional artistic items, will take place at the Home of Croatian Fine Artists in Zagreb, from 16th to 23rd December 2016. Once again, the fair will offer its unique contribution to the Advent season in Zagreb. ArtOmat will present in one place the impressive amount of 70 exhibitors and their recent artistic and designer production, or manufactured products. For eight days, the well-known Meštrović pavilion will be the key site for shopping for original art items and Christmas gifts. From its beginnings, the organizers of artOmat strived to create a unique platform that would serve as an alternative to the conventional market offer, while affirming local and broader artistic production and enabling the trade of original items and Christmas gifts.
During the opening night, on Friday, December 16th, starting from 7.00 PM, the visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a number of creative, fun and educational workshops realized through the support of Urbanka. On the first night, while enjoying Lucija’s music, you will be able to play a unique game created by the artist Marko Pašalić, or leave a message on one of the paintings by the artist Dejan Dukić, as part of the “Cozy D6” program. If the crowded venue makes it difficult to reach your favorite exhibiting author, our male visitors, who wish to have their beard, mustache and hair professionally taken care of, can take a break in our pop-up barber shop and get a make-over just in time for holiday. On Saturday, the ceramist Jadranko Gjerek will be demonstrating the pleasure of creating objects using a potter’s wheel.
During artOmat, Dejan Kljun will be teaching you what Suminagaski is, the children will have the opportunity to learn more about Croatian heritage while playing with HAI didactical toys, and the photographer Petra Mrša will help you create your own fotozine, that would make a perfect Christmas gift. For those wishing to waken their senses, we recommend visiting the workshop “Blind date”, created by the visual artists Jelena Bando and telling the story of “Findus at Christmas”, while those with a refined taste in chocolate may find delight in creating a personalized chocolate calendar for the best possible year of 2017. Have we already mentioned that you may take with you everything you create while taking part in the workshops and surprise your close ones with a unique, handmade gift?
If the DJ performances and the PDV Records music program we prepared leave you wanting more, we invite you to attend the presentation of the ViBRaBox music box on Thursday, December 22nd, and discover a new way to enjoy a different selection of music on a daily basis.
Admission to artOmat, the entire accompanying program and workshops is free of charge. For a detailed schedule of workshops and the working hours of Gospon Fulir pop-up barber shop go to https://artomatsajam.wordpress.com/program-3/ .
